Adding a signature to a contract

Filling out a PDF form

Use the Text tool to click directly on form fields and type your response. Most fillable forms work automatically with click-to-type. For image-based forms (non-interactive), use text boxes and position them over the blank fields.

Redacting sensitive information

Limitations vs. Adobe Acrobat

To be transparent: there are things Acrobat does that SignPDF doesn't (yet):

Full text editing — rewriting existing PDF paragraphs requires Adobe's proprietary text engine. SignPDF adds overlays, it doesn't edit the PDF's original text flow.
OCR (scanned PDFs) — converting scanned image PDFs to searchable text requires OCR, which Adobe offers. SignPDF works on PDFs that already have a text layer.
PDF/A compliance and advanced form creation (AcroForms) are enterprise features not currently in SignPDF.
